Ruta de pintxos

Enjoy a pintxos route through the most emblematic bars located among the beautiful narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town such as Estafeta, San Antón, Zapatería and San Nicolás. Poteo (as the locals call tapas in the Basque Country and Navarra), is a tradition that consists of visiting bars and taverns trying one or two of their best pintxos accompanied by a beer or a glass of wine. One of the most recommended places is the Bar Gaucho, where you should try the foie pintxo, the low-temperature truffled egg with straw potatoes or the eel, although if you prefer more traditional tapas you can go to the Bar Fitero which has the Filomena and the Iberian secret tapa with foie, its main jewels. Another essential is to order a Rubble at Bodegón Sarría, the artichoke pintxo with Iberian ham from La Mandarra de la Ramos, the fried egg from Vermutería Río and, above all, the elaborate bites from Baserriberri, which is another of the essential places to eat in Pamplona. This pintxos route is also perfect for discovering the most charming corners of the old town, so we recommend leaving your GPS or map and getting lost in its streets.
