Béthanie

Nestled in the hills of Pok Fu Lam, The Bethanie is a grade II listed neogothic church and academic complex. Built in 1875 by the Paris Foreign Missions Society, it served as a vital base for the French Catholic church's missionary work in East Asia until 1974. Today, it houses the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, comprising the Chapel, Sanatorium, and Service Wing. The Chapel, adorned with symmetrical designs and verandas on all sides, stands out as a highlight. The basement hosts a museum showcasing Bethanie's history and French missionary activities over 300 years. Explore through guided tours, or consider renting the space for wedding ceremonies.
